Return and Refund Policy
All Sales are Final
Due to the nature of alcohol sales and applicable regulations, all purchases made through The Bottle Square are final. Once an order is placed, it cannot be returned or exchanged unless the circumstances described in this policy apply.
We hold every order to the same standard we hold our curation — handled with care, shipped with precision, and backed by a team that stands behind what we sell.
Order Cancellations
Changed your mind before your order ships? We can help.
- Cancellation requests must be submitted before the order has been packaged or shipped.
- Approved cancellations are subject to a 10% cancellation fee to cover payment processing and fulfillment costs.
- Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled under any circumstances.
To request a cancellation, contact us as soon as possible at [your email] with your order number.
Failed or Refused Deliveries
All deliveries require an adult signature (21+). If your package is returned to us because:
- No one 21 or older was available to sign for the delivery
- The delivery was refused
- The address provided was incorrect or undeliverable
- All carrier delivery attempts were missed
Then the following applies:
- Shipping charges are non-refundable
- A 10% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund
- If your order originally shipped free due to a promotion, a $40 shipping and handling fee will be deducted
- Only the remaining product value will be refunded once the item is confirmed returned to our facility in original condition
If you'd like us to reship your order, a new shipping fee will apply.
Incorrect or Missing Items
We take order accuracy seriously. If something isn't right with what arrived:
- You must notify us within 3 business days of delivery
- Include your order number, photos of the item(s) received, and a brief description of the issue
- Requests submitted after the 3-business-day window cannot be reviewed

Damaged Items
We package every order carefully. If your order arrives significantly damaged:
- You must notify us within 3 business days of delivery
- Provide photos of the damaged product and its packaging
- The damaged product must be returned to be eligible for a replacement or store credit
This coverage applies only if you purchased The Bottle Square Order Protection at checkout.
Without Order Protection, The Bottle Square is not responsible for damage, loss, or leakage occurring during transit. Minor cosmetic imperfections (small label scuffs, slight box wear) are not covered under any circumstances.
Shipping Protection
At checkout, you can add Shipping Protection to your order. This optional coverage protects against:
- Loss in transit (package never delivered)
- Significant damage in transit
Order Protection does not cover theft after delivery. Because all orders require an adult signature upon delivery and are never left unattended, theft at the doorstep is not a covered scenario.
If you decline Shipping Protection, you accept full responsibility for any loss or damage that occurs during transit.
Age Verification & Legal Compliance
By placing an order, you confirm that:
- You are at least 21 years of age
- You are legally permitted to receive alcohol in your state and county
- All items are purchased for personal consumption only
- Someone 21 or older will be present and available to sign for the delivery
- You are complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws
You agree to indemnify and hold The Bottle Square harmless from any penalties, legal issues, or costs related to the shipment of alcohol to your location.
Taxes
You are responsible for all applicable taxes on your purchase, including California sales tax on CA deliveries and any state or local taxes required by your destination state.
Title to Goods
Legal ownership of all items transfers to you in the state of California at the moment the carrier takes possession of your package. From that point forward, transit liability rests with you.
Limitation of Liability
The Bottle Square is not liable for:
- Carrier delays or missed delivery windows
- Incorrect addresses provided by the customer
- Weather-related damage or delay
- Loss or damage when Order Protection was not purchased
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind
Your sole remedy is limited to the actual purchase value of the product(s) in question.
Force Majeure
The Bottle Square is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or disruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather events, carrier service interruptions, civil unrest, labor strikes, or acts of any governmental authority.
Policy Updates
We reserve the right to update or revise this policy at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Continued use of our website constitutes your acceptance of the current policy.
